Asolo is a pretty town with a characteristic medieval profile dominated by the mighty Rocca, in position it enjoys a Mediterranean-type microclimate favorable to the cultivation of olive trees which, with cypresses, dot the very green slope dotted with villas.

The English poet Robert Browning stayed in the La Mura house owned by Mrs. Katharine de Kay Bronson and the Asolan atmosphere inspired his latest collection of elegies which he entitled Asolando.
He is credited with having transformed the name Asolo into the verb “asolar” with the meaning of living pleasantly, abandoning oneself to the beauty of nature.

“Open my heart and inside you will see / Graved inside of it, ‘Italy’..”

— Robert Browning, Poet, Playwright
