It is one of the most significant villas in the province, situated at the centre of a large estate straddling hills and plain. It is a rare example of baroque villas in the Marca Trevigiana area, with impressive dimensions and a grand flight of steps at the front, it is truly magnificent in style. It was built by noble Francesco Rinaldi with the intention of competing with the most sumptuous of noble Venetian villas. The building is decorated with frescos attributed to various seventeenth century painters including Andrea Celesti. The works are inspired by stories from the scriptures and classical mythology the most interesting of which are those decorating the Olympus Room (Stanza dell’Olimpo) and the Hours Room (Stanza delle Ore).
