Camera, action

The city of a hundred horizons offers unique views that have more than once been the ideal settings and subjects of films for the big screen. Many important films have been shot in Asolo, such as:

IL DISCO VOLANTE
director Tinto Brass, 1964, with Alberto Sordi, Silvana Mangano, Monica Vitti
Plot
A flying saucer glides over a village and a police sergeant has to question various witnesses including a peasant with an enormous family who manages to capture the Martian and sells him to her boss, the Count. The Count's mother then kills the alien and is locked up in a lunatic asylum. The interrogation convinces the sergeant that nothing has happened and that the witnesses are nothing by visionaries. Asolo and surroundings as the environmentally peaceful setting for a grotesque story conceived and written by Belluno born Rodolfo Sonego. Alberto Sordi plays four people at the same time including the sergeant. (from Veneto in Film by Piero Zanotto)
